life’sDHA^® is a vegetable source of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) omega 3 which offers significant benefits for the brain and eyes at all stages of life. life’sDHA^® is an Oil from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. approved as a Novel Food in Europe. These microalgae are able to produce an oil rich in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), a long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid in the omega 3 series.

We may mistakenly think that fish are the main source of DHA omega 3. What people often don’t know is that fish obtain DHA from the algae they feed off. life’sDHA^® derives directly from the source, i.e. from the Schizochytrium sp microalgae, thus obtaining a product grown in a controlled, sustainable environment rich in high-quality DHA.
The life’sDHA^® production plants are specialised in the production and refining of DHA of algal origin. The process starts with the cultivation of these microalgae; once grown, they are collected and processed to extract highly purified oil that is rich in DHA, with a clear, amber colour.

DHA omega 3 has proven physiological importance for both adults and for the development and growth of children. Just as calcium is essential for building strong bones, DHA helps the cells in the brain, in the eyes, the heart and other parts of our body to develop and function correctly. This is why an intake of DHA in the diet is indispensable.
However, the human body is able to synthesise DHA only in very small quantities, thus making it necessary to integrate this element through the diet or with supplements.

The integration of algal DHA improves memory and learning abilities in healthy adults ages over 55 suffering from memory disorders*. In fact, high levels of DHA are associated with slowing normal age-related cognitive decline. The integration of DHA is also particularly important during pregnancy and breast-feeding, as it supports maternal health and promotes the correct development of the central nervous system in children, particularly cognitive development and visual acuity.
